Complianz alternative

A Complianz alternative that lives outside your WordPress.

Complianz is a good plugin that runs inside WordPress. Cookiemark does the same job from our own servers: your site loads one line, and there is no consent plugin to update, secure or renew.

Why people switch from Complianz

One plugin less to keep up to date

Every WordPress plugin is code that runs on your server, and keeping it current is part of looking after the site. Complianz is actively maintained and fixes issues quickly: WPScan lists eight security fixes published for it in 2026, all patched in later versions. With Cookiemark there is no consent plugin on your site to update at all.

The cookie list keeps itself

After every scan Cookiemark sorts each cookie it finds, adds it to your banner and cookie policy, takes off the ones that are gone, and sends one email with what changed.

Proof kept apart from your site

Complianz keeps records of consent in your WordPress database, which grows with every visitor and goes wherever the site goes. Cookiemark keeps them in its own database in the EU, with what each visitor saw.

One tool for every site you run

Agencies often have sites on WordPress and on other platforms. Cookiemark works on all of them, from one dashboard.

  2. Add your siteCreate the site in Cookiemark and set the look and texts of the banner.
  3. Swap the pluginDeactivate Complianz, then install the Cookiemark WordPress plugin, or paste one line first in the head. Two consent tools on one page get in each other's way.

Questions

Is a WordPress plugin unsafe?

No. Plugins are safe when they are kept up to date, and Complianz fixes issues quickly. The difference is who does the updating: a plugin is updated on each site, while Cookiemark updates once, on our servers, for every site.

Does Cookiemark also have a WordPress plugin?

Yes, and it is optional. It adds the Cookiemark line to every page and keeps optimisation plugins away from it; the banner itself runs from our servers. You can also paste the line without a plugin.

What happens to my Complianz records of consent?

They stay in your WordPress database until you remove them; export them first if you want to keep them. Cookiemark starts its own log when your banner goes live.

Does Cookiemark write a cookie policy like Complianz does?

Yes. Cookiemark can write a cookie policy, a privacy statement and more, in the visitor's language, and keeps the list of cookies in them up to date after every scan.
